Question 1

What is AEO and do you build it in?

Accepted Answer

AEO is the new acronym for 'how do I get quoted by ChatGPT, Google's AI Overviews, Perplexity, and voice assistants'. Short version: you need clean code, clear answers, and schema markup that tells the bots what's on the page. We bake all of that into every site we build. JSON-LD schema, FAQ markup, fast loads, semantic HTML, proper headings. You don't pay extra. It's just how we build.

Question 2

Will my site rank in Google, ChatGPT, and AI Overviews?

Accepted Answer

We build for it. Real talk though: no honest developer can promise a number-one spot. Ranking depends on your competition, your domain history, and how much content you keep publishing. What we can promise is your site will have the same tech foundation the winners have. Schema, speed, mobile-first, clean structure, internal linking, FAQ markup. If you want ongoing ranking momentum after launch, see The Content Refill (sites we built only).

Question 3

What is The Content Refill and who is it for?

Accepted Answer

It's our blog content service. Long-form posts written for humans, marked up for Google, structured so ChatGPT can quote them. Only available on sites we built ourselves. Why? Because we control the schema and internal linking on our own builds. Dropping good content onto a badly-built site is like premium fuel in a car with no engine. We won't sell that. $300 + GST per article, no monthly minimum, cancel whenever.

Question 4

Do you offer monthly SEO retainers or backlink packages?

Accepted Answer

Nope. We're a build shop. We bake ranking into the site at build time, then hand you the keys. The only thing we'll sell you after launch is The Content Refill (blog posts on sites we built). If you want monthly link-building or off-site SEO, we're the wrong shop. Happy to point you at someone who does that properly.

Question 5

How much does a custom website cost in New Zealand?

Accepted Answer

Custom websites start from $5,000 NZD. The price depends on page count, complexity, custom features, and integrations. Web apps and SaaS platforms are priced based on scope. Every project gets a fixed quote before work starts - no hourly surprises. A typical 5-10 page business website runs $5,000-$10,000. Web apps with user accounts, dashboards, and payment systems start around $10,000-$20,000.

Question 6

How long does it take to build a website?

Accepted Answer

Most websites ship in 2-4 weeks. Web apps and SaaS platforms typically take 4-8 weeks depending on complexity. We built Monster Audit (a complete SaaS product) in 6 weeks. Timeline depends on scope, feedback speed, and how many revisions are needed.

Question 7

What technologies do you use to build websites?

Accepted Answer

React, Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Node.js, PostgreSQL, Supabase, Stripe, OpenAI GPT-4, Puppeteer, and more depending on the project. No WordPress, no Wix, no page builders. Everything is hand-coded. This means faster load times, better SEO, full customisation, and no plugin bloat.

Question 8

Do you build web apps and SaaS products?

Accepted Answer

Yes - it's a core part of what we do. We've built AI-powered audit platforms, companion apps with persistent memory systems, real-time communication platforms, and interactive quiz engines. If it involves user accounts, dashboards, APIs, payments, or AI, we can build it.

Question 9

Can you integrate AI into my website or app?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. We've built GPT-4 powered chatbots, AI content generation systems, automated analysis tools, and intelligent data processing pipelines. Monster Audit uses AI to generate SEO strategies and answer client questions 24/7. We can add AI chat, automated workflows, content generation, or data analysis to any project.

Question 10

Do you handle hosting and deployment?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We deploy to Netlify, Vercel, or custom infrastructure depending on the project. Hosting configuration, SSL certificates, custom domains, and deployment are included in every build. We also offer ongoing maintenance plans so you don't have to worry about updates or security.

Question 11

Is SEO included with your websites?

Accepted Answer

Every website we build includes technical SEO: structured data, schema markup, meta tags, Open Graph tags, XML sitemap, semantic HTML, Core Web Vitals optimization, and mobile responsiveness. We build sites that rank on Google, not just sites that look good. Our own projects consistently rank for competitive keywords.

Question 12

Can I see examples of your work?

Accepted Answer

Check out our portfolio: CRE8 Collective (multi-brand people-specialist platform with 90+ Lighthouse scores), Flyinn (self-fly vacation site for NZ aviation tourism), Cloudbase Print & Promotions (B2B catalogue syncing five supplier networks), Monster Audit (SEO audit platform), MindGraph (personality quiz platform), OPTC (e-commerce with 2,677 products), Arborist Auckland, Drain Ranger, Appliance Professional, and Tommy Paint Redo. All live and in production. Visit our Projects page for full case studies.

Question 13

Why choose a custom-coded website over WordPress or Wix?

Accepted Answer

Custom-coded websites built with React and Next.js are faster, more secure, and rank better on Google than WordPress or Wix sites. There are no plugins to maintain, no theme limitations, and no monthly platform fees. You get exactly what you need, nothing you don't. WordPress sites average 3-5 second load times. Our sites load in under 1 second.

Question 14

Do you work with clients outside New Zealand?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We work with clients across New Zealand, Australia, and internationally. All communication happens over email and video calls. We've delivered projects for clients in multiple countries, all remotely. Time zones have never been an issue - we're responsive and flexible.

Question 15

What does the website development process look like?

Accepted Answer

Step 1: You tell us what you need via email or our contact form. Step 2: We send you a fixed quote and project scope within 48 hours. Step 3: Once approved, we start building. You get regular updates and preview links. Step 4: We launch, handle deployment, and make sure everything works. Step 5: Optional ongoing maintenance and support.

Question 16

Do you offer website maintenance and support?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We offer ongoing maintenance plans that cover updates, security monitoring, performance optimization, content changes, and technical support. Plans are monthly and priced based on the scope of work needed. You can also reach out for one-off changes anytime.
